A Foggy Experience

Tips for being in a fog;

Don't drive,
Don't read James Herbert.

I was in a fog
I had just finished reading a famous book
By a famous author
Scary fog kills people ...

So dismal in that grey and white nothingness
Rolling to and fro
From place to place
Without destination or will
Freedom to go wherever it chooses ...
... or wherever the wind takes it
Sweet smell of summer dew
And cold winter crisp freshness

Clears as the sun penetrates its outer layers
Tearing away the cold whiteness
Thinning the fog
Dispersing it
Misty ...silence

I wish I hadn't read that book.

Another day
Another fog
Another enchantment fading from
Before my very eyes

That is the way it is ...
... and the way it will always be
