Road of Light

Once the yearly Advent starts
You'll find me striding in the dark
Walking down my road each day
Each house strives to make its mark

The Radders have a snowman
He's over six foot tall
His eyes shine with frosty glee
His nose a bauble ball

Opposite the Radders
The Preasers have more lights
Festive hymns from speakers
Add to the road's delights

The Perkins have nativity
A barn full of mannekins
Where a tiny jesus watches all
Forgiving all their sins

The Prices lights are legendary
They are up throughout the year
Once December comes along
It's like daytime when your near

The Waverleys have rooftop sleighs
Inflatable reindeer too
They all wear Christmas jumpers
And give away a brew

The Patches have some biscuits
To go with Waverley tea
They are shaped like little trees
But you can't have more than three!

The Wainwright's are the darkest
With a horror Christmas theme
They dress up movie villains
To make the neighbours scream

Auntie Peggy lives alone
Her garden's filled with gnomes
Out comes the christmas ornaments
To compliment the homes

Old Ronnie has a passion
Tinkering with classic cars
He covers them in tinsel
And leaves sweets in festive jars

Pinkley Road is unique
The spirit of Noel is strong
On Christmas Day they form a choir
And burst into festive song
