The Man in the Corner of my Room

Night has come again
And the hour is getting late
I should really be in bed
But as always I just wait
Finally, I slip into bed
The light is still on bright
I can't stand the eerie dark
Night after night after night

For if I switch off the light
And peer into the gloom
I see a figure looming large
All I feel is Doom

Who is that man
In the corner of my room?
As still as a statue
And as Silent as the tomb
He waits in the dark
His figure slightly mangled
Until I fall asleep uneasily
And him and my dreams are tangled

Once did I try and talk to him
To try and ease the dread
I asked if I should go up to him
And he said (better stay in bed)
As I try to paint a picture
Of this devil standing there
He fills my heart with fear
And I fear I'm in his lair

I switch off the light
Eventually
He stands there all night
Watching over me....

Who is that man
In the corner of my room?
As still as a statue
And as Silent as the tomb
He waits in the dark
His figure slightly mangled
Until I fall asleep uneasily
And him and my dreams are tangled

My friend bought a Ouji round
To establish contact with the guy
The board was broken in two
And two words were spelled (you lie!)

Who is that man
In the corner of my room?
As still as a statue
And as Silent as the tomb
He waits in the dark
His figure slightly mangled
Until I fall asleep uneasily
And him and my dreams are tangled
