The Gnome

Deep within the apple tree
There lived a grumpy gnome
He didn’t allow any other creature
To call this tree their home

The squirrels were furious
The birds called the gnome a pest
The gnome ignored the creatures
He didn’t allow the birds to make their nest

So the creatures banded together
They forced the gnome to leave the tree
He went on his grumpy way
And let all the creatures be

Now the tree is full of life
The creatures have made their homes
Any animal can live on this tree
Any creatures but the gnomes.
