A Writer's Life
What a view
That a writer sees of the world
Striving not to take anything for granted
Admiring the intricate beauty
Of a petal, or a leaf
Expressing this beauty using words
Is never easy
The constant music
A writer hears
Makes their hearts
Dance with hope and joy
and makes their souls
Free and without fear
One note equals the ultimate happiness
Felt by those privileged to understand
The living textures
A writer feels
The materials that breathe life
Through the fingers that touch
and the light that comes from within
Burns brighter than daylight
and that writer feels the warmth from inside
What wonderful scents
That entrance a writer
A rose, the smell of purity
The scent of spring flowers, and
The wonderful aroma of freshly cooked corn
The magic of taste
Becomes a guide to all writers
The fantastic flavours
Of knowledge and understanding
Become a writers tool, a writers life
Tragic, it seems
The beauty is almost too much to bear
and the love in this world
Make all five senses totally alive
